The massive MMORPG Eve Online was robbed in June, with one of the games largest eBanks becoming the victim of a huge theft. Billions of ‘kredits’ were taken, and until now no one has known who took them, much less why, though there was a great deal of suspicion and speculation.

It has not been revealed that one of the banks executives, a character by the name of ‘Ricdic’ who is played by a man Eve Online is only calling ‘Richard’, stole the money. The 27-year-old Australian took the kredits, and converted it into real cash, which came out to about $7,000 USD.

He used the money to put capital down on a new house, and to pay off mounting medical bills for an unknown illness or injury. Surprisingly, he is not being made to pay that money back, or at least no plans to force him to have been released.

However, Eve Online has removed him from the game, confiscated his account, and banned him from ever again joining the virtual world, which has over 300,000 players globally. When asked if he would do things differently if he had the chance, he replied that, no, he would do things exactly the same.
